FAQs
General
What makes PRP North different to other clinics?
Unlike many clinics PRP North is a doctor led practice. This ensures all treatments are assessed and administered by highly experienced UK qualified Doctors and our protocols are based on extensive research papers and case studies. Each patient is assessed on a case by case basis and we use a double spin PRP protocol for the best possible outcomes. This results in 10 to 20 times more plasma than similar procedures (per unit volume).
Is PRP/PRF/GFC treatment painful?
The treatments can be uncomfortable, however not painful. In areas where it can be painful eg Face and hair, topical anaesthetic or regional block is applied.
How many treatments will I need?
In general, most protocols used at PRP North would require a course of 3 treatments followed by ‘top up treatments’ as per patient need. This can be discussed with the treating doctor.
How long does a treatment take?
Treatments take between 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
How long before I see any results?
Results can vary with some people noticing immediate impact, however best results are seen at 4-6 weeks post treatment.

Musculoskeletal treatments - Most patients experience little to no downtime after PRP treatment. Some patients may experience mild discomfort or stiffness/swelling at the injection site, but this typically resolves within a few days. It is recommended to avoid strenuous activity for the first 24-48 hours after treatment, but patients can resume their normal activities shortly after. As with any medical procedure, it is important to follow the post-treatment instructions provided by your healthcare provider to ensure optimal results.
